Basketball, figure skating, dance, hockey… Shooting community events can be a lot of work, but it’s also great learning and very rewarding. The work comes from keeping focussed and alert – sometimes for days in a row – always trying to keep my shots fresh and deliberate, and not getting lazy or loose. The learning […]
Welcome Logan!
A few images from a recent maternity & newborn shoot. Congratulations to Danielle, Jeremy and big sister Bryn, and welcome Logan! It was a pleasure to take photos for your growing family. Contact me anytime to inquire about family photos. We’ll have fun, make memories, and create beautiful images to share with your loved ones.
Featureless
An foggy morning down at the waterfront made for a good little series of minimalist images. Something about that pre-dawn atmosphere keeps you alert. The day is not awake, not yet. Still shedding off some weird dream. All shot with a Mamiya 7 II film camera and some slow film.
Intertidal 2018
Few places on the North Coast have as many stories to tell as the North Pacific Cannery. Weathered but tough, the site immediately strikes you: it sits astride the land and the sea and is still part of both worlds. A great, gangly complex of buildings and crazy apparatus all specialized for the purpose of […]

Lost in Space
A huge thanks to the Prince Rupert Skating Club for having me shoot the annual year-end performance. This year’s theme: Lost in Space. Highlights included Stars on Ice (literally), robots, routines of talented young skaters, and some fantastic 80’s throwback soundtrack (Starship Troopers, anyone?) Click the image below to check out the full gallery. […]
