Calling all night owls…!
Shooting stars – I mean taking photos of stars – generally requires a little kick in the backside. It can be easy to stay home instead of getting out and driving the distance to get clear of the town’s light, remember to bundle up, keep that battery charged, pack the tripod, bring a headlamp.
But the reward is often worth it, especially on these clear February nights. I’ve seen a lot of folks sharing their great shots of Northwest starry nights lately. Here are a few shots from a recent excursion out near the North Pacific Cannery.
This all got me to thinking – would anyone out there be interested in an affordable hands-on workshop in night sky photography? If so, please let me know with a quick message letting me know what days do (or don’t) work for you, and if I get enough interest I’ll put something together. We’d pick a spot and meet there to practice; I would teach the basic camera settings and provide composition tips and tricks.
